Dixon Chibanda is from Zimbabwe where music and singing are an important part of the cultural heritage. At the end of the 80's he was studying medicine in what was then Czechoslovakia. He joined the musical life in Bratislava ( now the capital of Slovakia ) where he sang with a jazz band.
Invited to collaborate on more pop style projects by Laco of the group "Peter Nagy & Indigo" - one of the most popular bands of the 80's in the the country, he recorded about 20 songs, 12 of them has been released on the album "Two Worlds". During this time he wrote lyrics and composed or co-composed music. One of these songs is AFRICA where vocals were sung by two other zimbabwe students Ozzy and James.
Finishing his sudies Dixon returned to Zimbabwe where he later recorded another album "Ndisye So" produced by Baba Dee, and sung in Shona language. Dixon Chibanda still lives in Harare, Zimbabwe where he is a consultant psychiatrist.
